OZ Pitch Day - June 19
GRASS OZ Fund Now Available with $1,000 Minimum Investment
A unique new fund is making some waves.
GRASS (The Growth Resources, Assets, Safety & Sustainability Opportunity Zone Fund) is making history as the first ever RegA+ OZ fund. The RegA+ status enables the fund to accept investments of as little as $1,000 from individual investors. (The GRASS fund is unique in this aspect; most QOZFs require minimum investments of $25,000 or more, with many requiring six-figure contributions.)
GRASS is both a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund (QOZF), as well as a Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS).
The GRASS QOZF is unique in other ways too: its portfolio consists of investments in blockchain-based SaaS companies and aviation businesses. Current investments include:
- Sierra Software Systems: Develops blockchain-based software used for compliance with government contracting policies.
- SAMSARG: Provides security to high-tech hangar facilities. This company holds a 45-year lease on hangar property near military installations in an Opportunity Zone in Silver Springs, Nevada.
- GA Hangars: Constructs advanced aircraft hangars.
The GRASS fund is based in Silver Springs, Nevada. The portfolio companies highlighted above operate primarily at Silver Springs Regional Airport, which has become a popular alternative to Reno International. Silver Springs is approximately 40 miles southeast of Reno in Lyon County.
